I’m assisting on a 2 hour project that was shot and onlined in 4:4:4 that will be recut. What I’ve done in the past is load a check tape from the online and add the video and sound tracks to the timeline top layers so changes can be tracked and the 1st online used as a source in the 2nd. However, when working in film, after the negative has been cut, the editor can still work only in dailies without the need of reloading the version that was cut as filmscribe can track the versions and deliver a change list. Is there any way to do the same in video, without loading dummy film information and using filmscribe? Is there anyway to do do this with sound? We are on a Mac based Adrenaline running v2.8.3.

The way to do this with sound is called Virtual Katy. Input an original EDL and a new EDL and VK will update a PT session.
