  Can Premiere 5.5 open Premiere Elements 11 files

  I want to have someone do some rough editing in Premiere Elements 11 then I want to be open the file in Premiere Pro 5.5 to fine tune the edit.

  Can Premiere 5.5 open Premiere Elements 11 files?

  The other person doesn’t have Elements yet. Or can anyone suggest another low cost editing software that can be used on a PC but could then be opened/converted in Premiere 5.5 on a Mac?
