Can one ever “polish a turnip” ? (Improve fundamental qualities)
I have been trying to author, for DVD purposes, an MPG which only had a video Mbit/s of 1.25.
In preparing it for DVD format, I have the opportunity to jack the video bitrate much, much higher.
But I have a sneaking suspicion that, while one can make things sharper and better colored in AE, there is probably little one can do to improve the basic quality of a video recorded at 1.25 Mbit/s.
Can one ever really “polish a turnip”? ie., get less blockiness, artifacts, restore a video to a better, truer state…. if it is fundamentally limited in quality to begin with?
