  • Can I use Zax files created with 32 bit machine in CS5 (64 bit machine)?

Posted by John Rich on April 28, 2010 at 1:28 pm

Assuming I got Premiere CS5 running on a 64 bit Win7 machine, would it be possible for me to use another machine (xppro 32 bits) to create Invigorator Pro titles and then import the titles into the 64 bit CS5 machine and use them there.
I was hoping the Zax file I created would be .avi which could be used on both 32 and 64 bit machines.

    I hope that makes sense.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi John,

Sure, you would be able to run 3D Invigorator Pro on your 32 bit machine and render the movies out through After Effects. You could render out the graphics as AVI format and import the movie onto the 64 bit machine.

    Hi John.

Zaxwerks plug-ins are currently not compatible with CS5. We’re working on it.

For now, you can use Zaxwerks products in CS4 (or CS3 or CS2).

    Matt,
That’s why I asked the question. I’d hate to give up the Zaxwerks titles I use if I move to CS5 and it sounds like I won’t have to.

Can anyone offer something more informative about an approximate timeframe for 64 bit updates?

Summer? 3rd quarter? If you want to couch it in tentative terms…then we will accept it in the same fashion.

    Thanks

    Hi Craig,

Sorry, didn’t see your message until now.

In terms of our 64-bit updates, we are currently converting our plug-ins and will be finished with the conversion process by the end of Summer.

For ProAnimator, we are working on numerous new features. The new version of ProAnimator is expected to be released by the end of Fall.

    Hope this helps.
