February 21, 2013 at 4:26 pmTranscode first, auto sequence the audio and video clips, kick out an AAF and plural eyes. Autosync those, and you’re good.

February 23, 2013 at 6:37 pmOr just use DualEyes and prep the sources before coming into MC via AMA.

February 24, 2013 at 4:20 pmIf you use DualEyes, it is not a transcode as you are syncing the original camera .mov files with the audio files and have options to replace .mov audio with double system audio, or sync all elements by giving them a common start frame by truncating or padding audio files to match video.
If you use AMA, bring into Media Composer, and want to use PluralEyes, then it is a transcode first.

February 24, 2013 at 4:30 pmlast Question, i did a link AMA, and exported Aff sequence .. and the sycing worked sometimes, that mean i got lucky, cause i really have tons of material and transcoding is not a good option ..
My question do i just try to get Dual eyes to save time and not to transcode ?

February 24, 2013 at 9:22 pmPlural eyes 3 allows for AMA syncing. If you are laying out the clips on the timeline and subcipping them, what would be the advantage of transcoding before syncing? Wouldn’t transcoding afterwards give you a more trimmed down selection similar to creating selects before transcoding any other way?

February 24, 2013 at 9:36 pmI haven’t used PluralEyes 3, but it may be more to do with AAF export from AMA connected sources which is why a transcode is done beforehand. I haven’t tried AMA with Edit Protocol and if third parties can use that as part of their process. Has anyone here actually done this?
Also, audio only files should always be imported, and not AMA’d…
