Hi AVID users & fellow PrEditors,

I’m currently exploring workflows in the webcast department aiming to broadcast live. I understand that in order to do this I need to hook up my video system to a PC workstation thru a digital video converter.

If I’m working on a multi-camera setup in HD, consolidating footages into a digital video mixer:
    1. can I use the MC Nitris DX to hook up to the PC workstation?
    2. Will I be able to do live webcast thru MC Nitris DX? If so, how will I be able to accomplish this? If not, what other AVID products I can use to do a live webcast?

Thanks & I hope I can get an answer asap.

    Short answer: No.

You’ll need a dedicated box for streaming. Sounds like you need something like NewTek Tricaster Studio. If you already have the video switcher in place you could use a dedicated piece of hardware like Digital Rapids Touchstream, plug in the video and go. There are plenty of streaming hardware solutions on the market – the right tool depends on the specifics needs of the job.
