Can I use a Contact mic or Piezo with Adobe Audition?
Hey there,
I have been searching high and low but can not find the answer by typing key words so hopefully someone here can answer my question. I am a student in a creative technology class and our latest assignment involves a Contact Microphone or Piezo. I recently have started to use Audition and like it a lot and would like to get some more experience with it under my belt.
Whenever I plug in the contact mic and hit the record button it gives me the message that the sample rate of the audio input and output devices do not match. Any suggestions anyone?
Is it simply not possible to use this with Audition? The mic works with Audacity but I much rather prefer to use Audition.

I think it may be an issue with whether the microphones you’re trying to use are high impedance or how impedance. What sort of connectors are on the ends of the cables? If the mic cables have an XLR barrel connector, they’re probably low impedance. If the mics have a TSR 3.5mm connector on them, I’m guessing that they’re high impedance, but there also may be a need for phantom power to boost the signal to line level.
