  • Can I move my FCP project files during an edit without causing major headaches?

OK, I accidently saved the project file to my media drive (WD My Passport via FW800) Can I move it to my system HD without major problems?
I’m editing HD720 24p files and FCP keeps hanging up (spinning beach ball) I’m getting worried that this project might cause me major grief.
I’m on the road, so I’m away from my main system. Any suggestions?

Absolutely. It’s just the project file. It will work no matter where you have it.

What format? DVCPRO HD? HDV? AVCHD? And a WD passport drive? That’s a consumer level drive, not really suited for editing HD. G-Raids, CaldigitVR, MaxxDigital Edit Vault, Other World Computing Mercury Elite drives…those are what you want.
