I’ve been working on a school project that is due tomarrow. I need my video to move quickly so that the voices sound somewhat like “chip monk” voices. I found that I could do this by using the scrubbing device on Vegas Studio 6 + DVD, but when I made the video cd and watched it, I realized that the video speed and audio speed were back to normal. I’ve looked all through the manual and I can’t find anything. I tried calling customer service, but they are under going maintanince. PLEASE HELP! :S

Hold down the ctrl key and resize to the speed you want. Now right-click the audio, choose “Properties”, and check the “lock to stretch” checkbox beside “Pitch Change”.

That should do what you want.

Besides, a velocity envelope won’t affect audio.

I was so happy to recieve your help, Edward, but I’m affraid I don’t follow. I don’t want to be a bother, but do you think you could tell me step by step what to do? I’m not the brightest when it comes to this sort of thing, but I really need someone to basically paint a picture for me. I held down the ctrl key, but where do I resize the speed? And where is the audio that I right click? I tried a bunch of things involveing the audio and tried to look for what you described, but could’nt find what you mentioned. Please help! MUCH THANKS!

You can resize an event larger or smaller using the mouse. You just move the mouse to the end of the event and click and drag. This time, hold down the CTRL key when you resize the event. As you make the event smaller, it will go faster (likewise, if you make the event longer, it will go slower).

My teacher is giving me the weekend to figure this all out now. Thanks for the help 😀 …I’m just not a computer person. It did make the video and audio move faster, but it didn’t make the voices more high pitched like it did when I used the scrubbing tool. I’m sorry that this problem is STILL dragging on, but I would like to know if there is a way to make the voices have a higher pitch?

You do the second part of the first post:

Now right-click the audio, choose “Properties”, and check the “lock to stretch” checkbox beside “Pitch Change”.
