  • Can I install Final Cut Studio content AFTER my initial install?

Posted by Vince Beeton on June 8, 2010 at 9:00 pm

Final Cut Studio comes with a huge glut of content discs which I did not have space for on my hard drive when I did my initial installation of the suite of software.

Is there a way to do a retro install of just the content? Would this be a simple case of a custom install? I really don’t want to have to uninstall and then re-install. Thanks for your help. Vince

    Yes. You can do that.

Yes, but the options to deselect the many bits can look a bit confusing.

Make sure everything is thoroughly unclicked (no checkmark) except for the content (you’ll see why I say “thoroughly” :O).

And you have to start from the install disk of course, not the content disk.

Thanks for responses. The solution once FCS has been initially installed is easy. Just put in the first content disc for each software (eg. DVDSP or Motion) then install straight from that disc. No need to go back to the original FCS disc.
