May 26, 2005 at 11:23 pmI guess this is for dodgy audio, eh? For instance, the audio guy recorded at too low a level, right?
I haaaaaate that, damn audio guys!

May 27, 2005 at 2:11 pmGuys,
If the audio is too low, what is the hesitancy of taking the clips into Peak and raising the gain a bit? You get a stronger file and a bigger waveform to boot. I do this all the time.

May 27, 2005 at 2:19 pmHi Chris
Even better, I think with FCP5 and Soundtrack Pro we will be able to do this non-destructively and within the FCP-STP workflow ie. embedded STPro sequences in our FCP timeline.
I think that is very exciting. Especially since I like to avoid making permanent changes to audio from captured footage; I like to leave all that to our audio mastering guy! He gets very cranky if I fiddle!
Can’t wait to try the FCP-STP roundtrip workflow. Anyone tried it yet?

May 27, 2005 at 3:39 pmHey Peter,
Dang, do you ever sleep? Isn’t it the middle of the night down there?
Yeah, I’m looking forward to STpro, if I can ever get it all to work! I don’t have an audio guy, so I can fiddle all I want.

OK, that’s avery different matter. I didn’t understand what you wanted at all. That would be nice!
To me, though, that’s more of a workflow issue. I prefer to take serious audio issues into a dedicated audio app, just like I prefer to take serious compositing, graphics & titling into dedicated apps. But that’s me. Your own milage may vary, of course.
