    Hi Black Magic Experts,

I know I am probably asking a lot, but can anyone advise me on this idea?

I would like to but a Black Magic Intensity Pro.

My plan is to buy a consumer level HD television (Sony XBR9). I really want to monitor HD for strange field issues that can arise. (I know, correct color levels is important to me, but I just cant afford the 3,000-4000 plus high end card right now).

Would I be able to see field issues with the consumer Sony and the Intensity Pro? Using HDMI, would that be a pretty sharp signal? I would most likely use Prores on Final Cut, or the jpeg compression on Premiere.

One other thing I would like to do, is to monitor NTSC on the HD as well. However, I do not want it to upconvert the signal. Can the Intensity output the NTSC signal 1:1 to the HD monitor? In other words, I should see a huge letterbox around my image, so the images would only use 720×480 of the pixels. Also, would the Intensity compensate for the field order reversal?

I know this is asking a lot. It probably seems as if I am asking for one easy solution, but has anyone successfully had a setup similar to this?

    Thanks so much in advance.

    Frank
