I have a project that i made a template, now when i make a copy and changes to it, it changes my original template.. any ideias on how to save without making changes to the template? ( i need to make 13 different projects from that original template, and i’m trying to avoid creating it all from scracth ) thank you

If you make the copies outside of Vegas Pro using the Windows Explorer, Vegas should only save the one project that you are editing and have no idea that the others even exist. In other words, don’t use Save As in Vegas, just copy and rename them on the file system yourself.

There is no way that this wouldn’t work unless you have some sort of pointer to something inside the project that you are changing.

    Are you using nested projects?

Something weird here. If you copied and renamed a veg, how could it change the original? Seems impossible.

Something is up here. As John suggested, might have something to do with nesting. I ran some tests and got some weird results using nesting. Need more testing.

What exactly changes when you edit a nested veg? I thought your nested veg would change if you changed the original but the original would not change if you edited the nested veg? .. I’m no nesting expert — hardly use it.
