  • Can I convert audio captured in 1 channel to 2 channels in the timeline with FCP HD 4.5?

I have several single person interiews recorded with a mono mic. I have captured the video into FCP HD. In order to get audio output from L & R speakers I have to pan the the audio track to the middle. Is this the only solution? Or should I get “Y” adapter to record the mono audio on both left and right channels.

    Thanks.

Doesn’t which you do, it will still be mono. Just twice as much of it.

    Hope this helps-

The question I have is does it matter if I have audio only on 1 channel as long as I pan it to the middle so that it plays on left and right?

You can copy and paste a copy, then make them a stereo pair.
    Worked for me once.
