  • Can I change the default setting for a FCP X filter?

I recently discovered the limiter filter courtesy of Larry Jordan. Woah! Awesome filter.

He has certain specs for the filter. I want to reset the default for the filter so that it accords with what he recommends. That said, i’ve been sleuthing online and can’t figure out how to change the default specs. is there a way to reset the default specs for a filter?

You can’t change the default but you can save a preset, either within the filter itself or by using my personal preference, the save preset button. If you use the latter, you end up with a new icon in your effects list that will apply the limiter (and whatever other effects you bundle with it) with the settings you chose.
