I’ve only recently started exploring Element 3D but I have a project that I’ve been working on in C4D using the Sketch & Toon effect.

I was planning to bring footage of my rendered objects into AE and work on them that way but I’m wondering if Element would work better for me. I’m just not sure whether I can get the Sketch & Toon look to my objects in AE using Element. Is it possible?

Here is a post that shows what I’ve been working on and the look I’m hoping to achieve:

    Many thanks.

Sketch & Toon in Cinema 4D has a very specific set of rendering parameters and capabilities that are not mirrored exactly by any other software I’m aware of. Element 3D renders using OpenGL and is much more limited in scope.

So the short answer is: no.

The longer answer is that if you work at it in After Effects you can use effects to create your own Sketch & Toon look to be applied after Element 3D. It won’t be the same and it will still be much more limited than C4D’s Sketch & Toon but it may work for you in this case.
