Do you need compatability for DV and DVCAM as well?
Sony do three small format VTRs:
1. HVRM10U – HDV, DV/DVCAM dual size tape. With LCD display and mains/battery power. This is a prosumer model.
2. HVRM15U – HDV, DV/DVCAM dual size tape. No LCD. This is an entry level professional VTR similar to the DSR-15 VTR for DV/DVCAM.
3. HVRM25U – HDV, DV/DVCAM dual size tape with LCD display. This is the professional grade VTR with additional capabilities over the 15U. It is the HDV equivalent to the DSR-25.
There are a range of higher-end VTRs to for full production use rather than just ingest and digital cut.

This deck actually only accepts the small tape so it is NOT ‘dual size tape’.
The main differences (besides price) between the 15 and the 25 is that the 25 has the LCD screen (as mentioned) but it also has the HDMI connector for digital HD monitoring and also connects to the Blackmagic Intensity card.

What would I do without the ‘UNDO’ button!!!!
