Can After Effects create a MOGRT with footage replaceable in PP?
Hello peeps, LONG time no see, and I hope you are all well and staying safe.
I have recently been trying out the Motion Graphics Templates in Premiere and AE, and it struck me that for some reason, Premiere MOGRTs can be created so they have the ability for the user to replace footage while maintaining the effects/motion/etc applied to that video element. This is done by using folders in the MOGRT, and you apply the effects to that folder, and simply replace the footage in the folder if needs be. AFAIK, if you bring an AE-created MOGRT which has video elements into Premiere, you cannot replace those video elements with other video from within Premiere, but have to go back to AE and replace the footage there… which kind of defeats the purpose of a MOGRT vs an AE project, it seems.
I just wanted to open discussion on that, as it would be fantastic if AE MOGRT could incorporate DROP ZONES like Apple Motion had in the old days of FCP7.
Cheers,
Mark.
