  • Can a HVX-200 be used to backup DV Tapes?

Posted by Chris Yeo on October 12, 2008 at 7:10 pm

Hi, I’ve just finished editing some projects and would like to back them up on to DV tape. As I don’t have a tape deck available yet, I was wondering if the HVX-200 could be used as one.

I’ve tried to use Final Cut Pro’s “Print to Video” function to get it to copy the data onto a fresh DV tape on the HVX-200 but it doesn’t seem to work. On checking, all I get is black on the tape in the HVX-200. Is there anything that I might be doing wrong?

I’ve read the manual and done as much as I can within my very limited understanding as I’m still very new to the world of editing.

Thanks for any help that’s offered.

    Cheers.
