  • Cameras, lights and nulls don’t line up after extracting in AE CC 2019

    Hey All,

I’ve seen this asked in different ways but having tried to replicate what others have done has brought me nowhere closer to getting it right.

I have some posters on a building in C4D R18. The camera moves in and past the building. I have external compositing tags centered on the posters so I can swap them out in After Effects but when I use Cineware to bring in the C4D file and click the EXTRACT option to get the camera and external composited layers, the AE camera is not lining up at all to my rendered footage. I have tried adjusting the comp camera’s settings with no success. It looks like the AE camera ends up zoomed and raised. Before I hit EXTRACT, the rendered footage seems to line up fine with the scene.

It seems R18 no longer supports the exchange plugins so I’m out of luck – that’s a real bummer as that always worked well.

    Any ideas?
