  Camera to take HD footage and photos???

  Hello all,
  I am looking to purchase a camera and am looking for one capable to record high quality HD footage. I also was told, maybe not correctly, that the RED camera was capable of turning still frames of recorded footage and producing quality photos. I was just curious if this is true as I shoot surfing and the ability to sell still frames of recorded footage would be ideal. I am looking to purchase the Canon XH-A1 and curious if this is possible. Any info on the subject would be a huge help. Thanks
