    Hi,

I’ve built a few 2 1/2D environments in after Effects and had great fun with the freedom of moving the camera anywhere, limited only by the flat greenscreen.

I’d love to do the same in C4D, but not sure how to get see the video preview when I’m just in the editing window. I can get audio to preview obviously, but not video? any ideas?

I managed to find the solution to this problem. I wanted to be able to see a video texture animate while in C4D editing, before rendering.

The option is ‘hidden’ in the illumination section of the Materials Editor window. If Animate Preview is checked, video will be scrubbable, although if the scene is too complex, C4D switches to wireframe. But it should help me out and anyone else searching these forums.

FYI, you will get better editor playback if you use an uncompressed .tif sequence rather than a .mov or other compiled video. Otherwise Cinema has to decompress the movie every frame.
