Need a feldmonitor to mount directly on the EX1, or the tripod.

Will use it for framing and focus, as the LCD on the cam, allthough fantastic, is a bit small for the way I wanna shoot.

    Recommendations anyone?

Important for me is that it will be better, or equal to the onboard LCD when it comes to sharpness, in order to get nice crisp focus.

Oh and yeah, if something is available for around 2K , that would be sweet….. But that might be believing in Santaclause?

    Maybe not. Check this out:

Look for the 7″ HD monitor at the top of the page.

I use the Ikan 8″ monitor with a medium Libec tripod. Libec has a really nice side arm to mount the monitor on that I think you will really like.

    Michael,

[Michael Palmer] “I use the Ikan 8″ monitor”

So is the Ikan HD monitor good enough for critical HD focus? I have their 4×3 monitor for SD and prompter use and am quite happy with it.

For the EX1, I thought you had to have a monitor that takes SDI?
    Am I wrong?

You can monitor using the AV in/out or component if you want. Whether SDI is better for that I wouldn’t know but there are many monitoring choices with the EX.
