Hi all, I’m all out of clever words to google and still haven’t found what I am looking to do. My desired effect is simulating a locked down camera to an object in the shot, sort of like a digital GoPro. For example, an overhead shot of someone shifting a car, but the shifter always stays in the middle of the screen while the surroundings move around as the driver rows through gears. I shoot in 4K and edit in 1080 so I have some wiggle room for resizing.

A more advanced technique I’m trying to figure out is the same idea, but rotation. For example, a car burn out but the camera spins with the wheel, simulating a GoPro mounted to the hub of the wheel, shot in high FPS of course. Can you tell I make a lot of car videos? ????

I’m assuming it’s going to be motion tracking, but how and where do I apply it? Duplicate the main footage and lock it to the tracked footage/null object? Halp!
