Calibrating iMac with X-rite i1 Display 2 colorimeter
I’m placing this question here because undoubtedly some working PS professionals will have dealt extensively with monitor calibration for the web.
I am trying to properly calibrate my iMac i7 for web work. I do photographs and video for the web.
I’m using the X-Rite software that came with the device. I’m dialing in the following settings in Advance Mode:
D65
130 cd/m2 (130 is my target, but I got it to 138 and I’m fine with it)
Gamma 2.2I work in a moderately lit environment.

1. Should this be a reliable profile for what I am trying to do? When I run the calibration software in easy mode I get what looks like a tiny, tiny green cast (but that could just be that my Advanced Mode profile has a tiny magenta cast, so I don’t know). Anyways they don’t match up.
2. I chose 130 cd/m2 based off recommendations. But are those recommendations for printer accuracy? I know the iMac’s screens can get really bright, but a lot of monitors can. I’m going to the web with this work so is there a different standard for cd/m2 settings?
Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated.
And again this is web work.
