Calibrating a monitor to bars
Can I use the same blue viewing glass I used to use with CRTs to calibrate an LCD monitor using SMPTE bars from the camera?

Why not?
If you can not switch-off the Red and Green channels, a blue filter is the only way to adjust the Chroma with some accuracy.
