    Hi, All,

I know that copying a 15 GB P2 card over a firewire 800 connection should typically take about 9 minutes.

Is there a simple formula for calculating the approximate amount of time it takes to then convert MXF files to Quicktime files?

Thanks in advance for your collective expertise!

    Peace & respect,

DVCPRO HD? 1GB per min. Basically just a copy with a re-wrap.
AVCIntra? That’s different. That’s converting to ProRes. I don’t have a time for that.

If using FCP7 you don’t have to go to ProRes bit rather wrap as AVC-I. Much quicker, similar to DVCPro HD.

I don’t have times either as I typically edit the MXF natively with no log and transfer.
