    Hi all,

Has anybody found a work around to be able to cache clips to a network drive while working in collaboration mode?

I understand that this is currently a known issue.

We have three computers working on a doc which was filmed mostly in CDNG. The primary computer is powerful enough to play back the graded clips and titles without too many dropped frames, but it would be great to be able to have the smart cache do the heavy lifting for the other two computers.

All computers are running off of the same 10gb NAS.

I have my cache on an ssd raid inside a qnap, linked 10g to my main PC and an iMac station.

My caches seem to work fine…i don’t do a lot of actual work on the imac, just outputs and conversions, and I don’t use cache files for outputs, but my gallery and stills seem to work across the network.

    What part isn’t working?

    Glenn

    Thanks Glenn,

The cache stops working only when the project is in collaborative mode working on the postgreSQL database.

If you enable collaboration mode in a postgreSQL session (file/enable collaboration) does it still cache properly for you?

I have a feeling this might only be an issue for multi computer setups…

    Ben.

Yeah you can’t share a cache so there’s no caching when in collaborative mode.
