I modeled an object with a few textures and a mat. Each time i try to render to picture viewer cinema says “Files cannot be written-please check output paths.” Why is this happening? Do I need to re-apply the textures?

    Thx 🙂

I’ve seen this happen on some systems when trying to render to the desktop. Usually rendering to a folder on a drive solves it for my students.

That is…assuming you have entered a path in the File Location on the Save tab of the render settings?

If you’ve got the render settings set to render to a specific folder, but maybe the folder got deleted or moved, then maybe Cinema can’t find the folder to put the render in. This has happened to me in the past. You can render without a location in the Save tab (just leave it blank) if it’s a single picture; then you can save it from the Picture Viewer. But if you’re rendering a sequence and you have no location set, Cinema won’t save the renders.

You can still save animations if you didn’t set a save path. You just have to be sure to change the type (first item) in the Save As dialogue from Still Image to Animation.
