C4D render quality
I am looking into C4D. I would like to see “what it can do” in terms of render quality compared to Mental Ray.
I know it has an advanced renderer. On Maxon’s site there is not allot of great photo real samples.Can anyone point me to some real high quality C4D rendered imagery, or comment on this.

Well, you are touching a very sensitive topic here… I won’t get into details, but you are not getting MentalRay with Advanced Render. I suggest you look at other C4D related forums such as C4DCafe or CGTalk and make up your own mind about the heated debates going on there, including the only alternative renderer for C4D at the moment, which is finalRender. Also VRay bridge is being developed, but it’s nowhere near completion, it seems.
