  • C200 audio sounds like noise reduction was on?

We had a shoot with a new C200 and when we got into editorial, at one point the interview audio (XLR sennheiser mic) starts to have a lot of flange. It’s the same sound that you produce when you have heavy noise reduction applied. I describe as “swishy”.

It wasn’t there at the beginning of the interview and seems to be introduced with a small change in volume (I think the camera operator dropped the volume just a touch).

We were shooting AAC compressed audio, but we’ve done that a lot before with no issues with the C200.

Any ideas? Not sure we can fix it, I’m just wanting to figure out why it happened and see if anyone has had a similar issue?

Did you ever figure out what was happening with this? I’ve been getting the same thing with my Sennhesier Wireless Lavs.

    This is happening to me.

I was recording, as separate inputs, a shotgun mic into input 1 and a wireless lav into input 2. A number of times I was hearing that swishy noise on input 2. After some tests, I found that when input 1 peaked, or near peaked (it didn’t have to peak, just a strong signal), input 2 then experienced that swishy distortion. I called Canon and they said there’s nothing that can be done. I’ve never had this issue on other cameras before.
