Burning out background / White background
At work we are shooting stills of models in a white studio background using 350 W tungsten lights. This background works well for still shots. However I am also filming the models on my 5D but there´s only time for about a few minutes of filming in the end of the photoshoot. I quickly move the lights around to get the best light.
Anyhow..I try to achieve the white infinity background that is achieved in the still photos. Sometimes I get some clutter in shot or different shades of white and grey…I managed to blend some of those out with color grading and using the limit color effects in FCP.
This is my first result: (I really had to work on some of those backgrounds!!)
I´m thinking of slightly underexposing the talent with my 5D next time in order to blend the background to totally white in FCP 3way color correction..(without burning out the talent)
Rotoscoping is not an option on these jobs.Any thoughts anyone?
