burning dvd error on premiere pro
Hello, I would really apreciate your help. I have edited a 1hour and 34 minute video with premiere pro and wanted to burn a dvd. In the encoding field I chose high quality 4mb VBR 2 pass. After a couple of hours of waiting for the transcoding and encoding, finally the burning started but stopped shortly before it was through and the following code appeared: DVD err,262912 so I started all over again and the second time I selected: progressive high quality 4mb VBR 2pass and again, shortly before the burning ended a new error: dvd err -224
occured. I am not practical in the entire dvd burning system, just starting off and would really apreciate your help in explaining what I did wrong or what I can do to be able to burn my dvd. Thank you very much. -

I have seen PCs that Premiere Pro or Premiere Elements could not burn a DVD. I suspect third party DVD burning apps like Sonic have corrupted Windows and caused this. Choose the Burn to Folder option in the Burn DVD window and then use your DVD burning app to burn the VIDEO_TS folder to disc.

thank you for your tip. I tried to do what you told me and it seems to have worked out even if with lower quality… I compressed from premiere to mpeg2 and then tried to burn with nero but had the same problem… shortly before the burning proces was through, it stopped so I let nero just “burn” to the harddisc and then from there I put the ts_video file into sonic and what do you know… it worked. So if sonic is a problem to my other programs as you think, should I delete it? -

I have seen worse problems associated with removing burning apps, so leave things alone. I would avoid letting Nero author your DVD as it may be recompressing your Mpeg 2 files. Do your authoring, menus, etc in Premiere or Encore, export the VIDEO_TS from them and let Sonic or Nero do the burning. Nero using one of their “Backup” options to burn a VIDEO_TS folder.
