    hi

    to create a bullet time effect i cut an image out of a bullet and have it leaving the barrel in slow mo, but the bullet looks pretty flat, is there a way i can make it look more real

    You need to make a 3D bullet. Learn to use a 3D application or buy Zaxwerks Invigorator.

    is there a way i can make it look more real in AE, for example ligting

    If the bullet is moving, its perspective will change. Its shape will change. For that you’ll need a 3D bullet in a 3D application, or Zaxwerks.

    Right now, you have a flat picture of a bullet. Lighting in AE won’t change its shape or give it a third dimension. We all have to accept that AE works with flat planes floating in space.
