Bug with Edging Tool for Chroma Key?
I have been using FCPX for a couple of months now, and have NEVER experienced this problem until just a couple of days ago.
Please refer to the image below, which depicts the size of the edging tool. I have always been able to control the size of the tool by simply dragging the endpoints. Now, it instantly snaps to a size much too big for my purposes, and does not allow me to change the size…????
Again, I have used this tool dozens of times without issue. I have not updated my version of FCPX at all…it’s like this problem just manifested out of thin air!
Does anyone know what’s going on??

Have you tried trashing you preferences? It’s usually the first port of call when weird stuff happens.

The only preference I’ve changed from default is to automatically create proxy media in transcoding. I reset that parameter, and the problem persists :/
I’m new to video production, but this is a rathher strange problem if you ask me. Don’t have the slightest clue what’s causing it.

It’s not so much whether you’ve set any preferences but whether the preference file has become corrupted, causing anything from crashes to weird UI behaviour. It’s the basic go-to for unexplained behaviour with the next step being trash the app and reinstall.
