Bubbly Edges?
I want to have the edges of my logo bubble up as if it was plastic melting. Has anybody been able to achieve this effect?

Use Roughen Edges, then apply Erodilation from ObviousFX (which is freely downloadable) in Radial mode. This will give some instant rounding. You could also try to isolate your edges and use particles. If you have Particular, it’s quite easy.
