    Hi,

I’ve had my brand new BT-LH1700W LCD monitor for a couple of weeks and there are a couple of things that are bugging me.

#1: When there is a black signal or no signal going to the monitor it displays a really blotchy signal of light and dark areas ranging from gray to black.

#2: I was shooting 720p 24 the other day and was feeding the monitor with the component output (set to 720) from my HVX-200. The image had a serious chroma or luma shift that that resulted in a strange double image effect. I’m pretty sure the camera was not recording the image this way, but I only had the camera lcd to double check with.

I work with a different BT-LH1700W monitor sometimes that has not exhibited either of these issues. Am I doing something wrong or is my monitor screwed up?

    Thanks

I have an LH1700 and have never experienced those anomalies. You may want to have the monitor looked at.

Thanks for the feedback Brad. I’m going to take it to a shoot tomorrow where they have another BT-LH1700W and compare them side by side. If I can’t get it to work properly, I’ll be calling Panasonic.

To follow up on my own post:
Turns out it was a lousy cable that was causing the double image. Good cable = good image = good news!
