    Hi,

Is it possible to paint / brush on a seperate layer in After Effects like in Photoshop?
It would be nice to “paint” on a adjustmentlayer or something. I cant find a way to do it. Now I have to double click on the original footage and paint directly on it. I want to make mattes of this to bring into another programs etc.

You can paint on the original layer then after you are done just turn it into an adjustment layer by clicking the box under the half-black/half-white circle in the timeline.
