Trying to switch from Corel Phot Paint to PS CS2.
Having a basic issue about brush outlines.

For example the clone brush/tool – In corel there are two circles representing the brush size in pixels – one for the source and the other for the destination areas for the effect. It is very easy tool to use.

In PS all I have are crosshairs (+) to identify the destination/target area – nothing to show brush size or actual source location.

Have I missed a very basic set-up option somewhere, or does PS not have brush outline capabilities. I’ve seen the brush outline defined in every other photo/paint program I have every used.

    Sorry for the noob question.

    Any advice appreciated.

    Go to Edit>Preferences>Display & Cursors

In there you can change the settings for how your cursor displays.

I’m trying to make hollow/clear circles with a border. Can you not make them like you do in illustrator? I’ve used the elliptical tool and the shape tool but it’s hard to make multiple clear circles with consistent border thickness. Is the only way by duplicating the elliptical circle then reducing it and deleting the middle version?
