  • Brush leaves behind residue. Intensity 1 – 9 , will it go higher?

When I use my brush to erase parts of a photo there is very light residue left behind even with level 9. When I go into “blending options” I see this when I apply any of the patterns, especially the stroke pattern. So I have to return to the image and re-erase the residue.

Is there a way to take the intensity past level 9? I just now typed 10, and now the eraser will have no effect even if I type 9 again.

I don’t see a message telling me anything was done, so I can undo whatever I did.

However when I run my eraser across the image, the history stacks up with little eraser icons indicating that I have been using it. And I have the proper layer selected. I guess for now I’ll save, and restart the program hoping that fixes it.

    Max OS 10.5.8
    PS CS4 11.0.2

    Thanks for any info,
