    Using CatDV 9 on MacPro 10.6.8.

    Open Browse Catalog. Type in a search word. The results show you what catalog contains the clip(s) with that particular search word.

    IF- the search word finds the clip where the word was part of an Event Marker descriptor or a descriptor used in the Notes area under the Log Notes tab, double-clicking on the catalog will open a blank catalog.

    IF- the search word finds the clip where the word is part of a User Setting (custom or otherwise) descriptor, double-clicking on the catalog will open the catalog correctly.

    Is this the correct behavior? Is there a setting that needs to be changed?

    That doesn’t sound right. Please email a screenshot of the Browse Catalogs window after doing the search and a copy of your CatDV Error Log (which you can access via Help > System Information) to support@squarebox.co.uk so we can investigate.
