Broken Glass/Mirror in Space
Can someone tell me if this effect is possible to do in Sony Vegas Pro:

If you watch the demo reel there are a few scenes early on (around the 0:30 – 0:50 mark) where a video is playing on a cracked piece of glass/mirror in space.
Can this be done with Vegas?

No, not totally with Vegas alone. That was probably done in a 3D application. You could certainly mask static layers in Vegas and have them move in 3D space, but to make them break apart like that requires that the video is the source of the 3D object’s surface so that it turns with the object.
To do this in Vegas you could use Boris Continuum Complete 7 (BCC7) with Vegas Pro 10 to create an extruded EPS object and map the source video onto it, and then use the Shatter paramaters in BCC7 to get pretty close to that effect.

Thanks for the quick response. I will try to make some odd sized shapes in Illustrator and bring them into vegas.
One more quick question, what effects would you apply to the video to sell it. I was thinking of just dropping the opacity and maybe adding some noise.
