Oh…. the xa10 was shot in 1080i 60. but i put it into a 720 x 480 frame and added some hd upper and lower thirds. Video looks nice.

    Raf,

Try setting your project properties template to match the native footage you shot in 1080i, then render the project out in Quicktime H.264, since the broadcaster also lists that format as an SD option. You’ll get the job done meeting the broadcaster’s specs, it’ll look great, and Vegas probably won’t even break a sweat.

I am assuming the H246 is the SONY AVC/AAC?

I Would really like to figure out the MPG2 option because of the closed captioning issue.

Here is what I have tried:
Render as Sony Main Concept (using every option)
I manually went in and changed 720×480 to 720 x486
I manually change the BPS to 12,000,000 (12Mpbs)
    I manually closed the GOP

    It will not render.

I just got off the phone with COmcast…. They said that data is OLD. ….WHAT!!!!!??? In closing: 720x 480 is ok, and progressive or lower field.
