    Hello,

Its my first time posting something on here. Anyway, I am using Final Cut Pro 5 and have an issue when I bring in text/graphics from photoshop to Final Cut.

I save the photoshop file as a tiff or png, so that I can keep transparency, but when I put it on the timeline in final cut, I seem to get some weird interlacing on the imported graphic.

When I use the built in text that Final Cut provides, it works just fine, with no interlacing. I dont know why its doing this. I never had this problem until I started using Final Cut 5. Is it a setting? or am I saving my files the wrong way? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

FCP will take psd files just fine. What you would have to do is have each layer flatten (I recommend you save a seperate psd file for this). FCP only sees the layers of PSDs not the effects (like bevel, drop shadow, etc) so when you flatten each layer seperately it will go to FCP fine.

NOW in FCP you will have to check your timeline settings. In the Brower, right click (ctrl+Click) your sequence. Go to settings and there you will find the timeline settings, and compression. Change those (if you would like) to a setting that better runs your pics. I found a few that work well. OR you can save your PSD file to have the same settings as your timeline.

Well, Hope that helps. Have fun with PSDs running in FCP.
