I was finally convinced to purchase a MAC. Brand new system with 2 x 2.66 GHZ Dual COre. Memory: 4 GB 667 MHZ.
    Graphics Card: NVIDIA Geforce 7300…

Installed Final Cut Pro and received Configuration Error message as follows:
This software requires certain hardware or software which is missing

. Power Macintosh G4/350 megahertz or faster
    . AGP graphics card

    What is going on?

[EyeMaster] “. Power Macintosh G4/350 megahertz or faster
    . AGP graphics card”

Gosh! That’s got to be FCP version 1 or 2! It’s time for you to upgrade!

You’ll need at least FCP 5.1 to run on that computer because it was the first version that was universal for Intel processors, but I’d suggest going with the latest and greatest with FCS2.

I think there’s a hack for this somewhere but you bought the wrong version of FCP to run on that computer.
Take it back, call the vendor, try to exchange it. Or pay for the upgrade to Final Cut Studio 2.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
