We’re running a 20″ Viewsonic and 23″ Apple display on the stock Quad graphics card with no issues. usually the displays come with some sort of calibration utility, though few of them are for Mac.

Mixing monitors, to me, is like mixing drives. You know, like mixing a RAIDed Firewire drives with SATA RAIDed drives for doing video editing. You’re bound to run into trouble sometime. As for the same monitors not matching, that’s something else that has to be dealt with.

All monitors are like computers, no two are exactly the same. And there is no way to get them to match exactly by using the little calibration programs that come with them. Your only option to make them match is a calibrator device. Pantone make one called the “Huey” for less than $90 and it works flawlessly on my PCs. I’m not sure about the Macs but I would have to say that it would work just as well as it does on the PC.

Give that a shot, and I’m sure your color issues will go away.

Another option before you run out and buy a calibration device

I am guessing that the asjusting you have done is with the immage controls on the monitor itself. If you go into system preferences under display you can do some color calibration there also

Looks like you have been there. The graphics card is the next suspect in the equation. Do you know anyone around with a dual head card you can connect your monitors to or better yet, swap cards with to test.

Yea wasnt shure if he was refering to OSX’s utility or the controls on the monitors them self.

I would doout it would be the graphica card though, but try swapings the monitors to the oppisite DVI conection on the Graphics card. If the one with the yellow tint still has it, then it is not the card.

I have two identical LCD screens myself and there is a slight difference between the two
