Boris titles: FCP 5.0.4
Hi! I am using FCP 5.0.4., and excited to start titling in my new FCP project.
I would like to do this from within FCP project, adding text clips to the Timeline. When I do it with the FCP text function though (Legacy Text function), they look not so great when I render to QuickTime.
My understanding is that there should be something called Boris in the Generators menu… but I do not have it.
I downloaded the fix from Boris, and started FCP with caps lock on, etc, as indicated, but still don’t see it in Generators. I only see things like Text, Slug, etc.
Anyway, that fix was for 5.1 and beyond, I think.
Is there a way I can use Boris for titling, or is it just not installed in my version?
Please also tell me: can I use LiveType to create titles from within FCP, as I want to do? If so maybe I should just skip right to that?

In FCP 5, the Boris generators have their own folder, look above the text generators.

Chris, thanks so much for responding. I apologize for being a newbie, but can you give me an idea exactly where? If I open Viewer for a clip with text on it (Legacy Text), Boris should be in there? I don’t see it.
Can you tell me exactly where I should find Boris titling function? Thanks so much.

David, this is a wonderful tutorial, but Boris isn’t an option when I go to my Generators menu as he does in the video. Ouch! How do I get it there? I’m using FCP 5.0.4

Under the generator puldown in the viewer, in alphebetical order. Should be a Boris folder.
