Works for me. Make sure you have All Styles activated.

    All the best,

How are you making the shadow exactly? Have you activated it? Is it coming on? What type of shadow?

    All the best,

I open Boris Title 3d in FCP Viewer, select Title 3D Click For Options, type in a word
Then select shadow from left hand side tabs (the bottom tab) click on T1 select Drop Shadow put an x in the little box tried many variation. click Apply. same old solid hard edge shadow.
It always comes back with the bottom box checked and same defaults showing.

You might try trashing your prefs including your Title 3D prefs.

If I’m working on a title that’s in the timeline and open it from the timeline into the viewer, make changes to the drop shadow, click apply, it’s updated in the canvas. I can’t reproduce the problem in the current version of Final Cut and haven’t heard of it in earlier versions.

    All the best,

Sounds intimidating to me… System/Library/preferences… then trash all apple. preferences?

OK, trashed the final cut and title 3D prefs. Still the same. Question: In the text editing window of Title 3D do you see the shadow change “live” while you make adjustments? I do not.
Thank you, I’ve appreciated your help

    Tom,
Don’t know why. But suddenly it’s working. I don’t think I did anything different, but bam there it is. Thanks for taking some interest in my plight
