Bob, I agree the scroll speed problem is even worse.I read all kinds of advice about how many seconds per screen to use and the tutorial mentioned above, talks about an industry standard of 300pixels per second. Now that’s rediculously fast. Maybe that works on a 4K sized screen!! No matter what I do, I always end up with twittering titles. There is obviously a ‘deeper magic’ that people are not revealing so that they can charge $200 an hour to do titles. I’ve just reviewed some Holleywood feature film credits and they’re rock steady and take about 8 sec per screen.

Coming back to Boris. The tab thing doesn’t seen to help me. I’m importing a large text file with all the credits on it.
Within Boris I have 2 tabs to mark the blank center column. I then set up each line in the text file to be:
tab, tab, charactername, tab, actor name
The file then imports OK (sort of) but trying to get something center aligned is weird.
What does clicking on the alignmnet button within Boris apply to?
The text you’ve just typed? Because it certainly doesn’t apply to any text you select and hilight!
    Mark.

300 pixels is not the only choice. There are any number of posts about title scrolling here and in the After Effects forum, I believe. I just looked and didn’t find anything immediately, but I’m sure you can. It’s all about keeping the frame rate a multiple of the video scan rate, as I recall, but once you solve it you’ll think it’s easy.

If Boris Graffiti handles scrolling easily, I’ll buy their solution. I was hoping a user would weigh in here and endorse it.

As for the tabs business in the included Boris Title Crawl:

    1. don’t set up extra tabs.
    2. set up the correct types of tabs — there is a center-justified tab.
    3. I don’t know how to import a whole file, but if you apple-c, apple-v some text, you should be able to laboriously tab it into position.

My tendency would be to use After Effects for this anyway because your problems are only beginning, once you’ve solved that tabs problem in Boris Title Crawl.

Hey Tom, can you describe this more? I am trying to create credits with Boris Title Crawl in FCP 7. I want the crew’s title’s on the left and their names on the right, and lined up down the middle. In the fcp generator this works with an asterick (sp?) but I cannot find a way to do it in Boris. Many thanks.
