Let’s just say it’s a round #2 game changer. GET, which is Boris Soundbite’s no long available predecessor, changed that game well over a year prior using the exact same speech recognition technology.

In fact, here’s my GET review: https://library.creativecow.net/weiss_roth_david/get-review/1.

It’s the same tech, ain’t it? Different wrapper?

Absolutely! A friend in LA was a Beta Tester for GET so I learned about it a while ago, but missed the window when it was being sold by AV3. So glad it’s finally back on the market. I really could have used it last month.

I’m not yet sure what’s different or what’s the same. All I know at this point is both are powered by the same engine, and mysteriously Soundbite appeared ever so shortly after GET disappeared.

Now if they can just get it working in reverse to generate accurate transcripts…

This is what I would love too.

We absolutely do need a transcription creation tool with enough accuracy to be truly useful. I attempted to use Adobe Speech Search yet again just the other day, and unfortunately, it’s every bit as useless for documentary work today as it was 2.5 years ago when I first reviewed it.

Accuracy, even with near-perfect recordings, is hardly 50%, so the transcripts provide just and equal amount interference as they do help. So, simply stated, transcriptions from Speech Search cannot be honestly touted as improving efficiency at all.
